How to Travel to Cabo Verde

A former Portuguese colony, the Republic of Cape Verde (Cabo Verde in Portuguese) is a popular tourist destination in the Atlantic Ocean. The volcanic archipelago lies off the coast of Western Africa. Seven of its 10 islands have airports.
  1. Commercial Air Travel

    • Most international flights land on the island of Sal. TACV Cabo Verde Airlines operates flights from destinations such as Lisbon, Boston, Amsterdam, Madrid, Munich and Paris. TAP Air Portugal and Air Sénégal International also have flights to Cabo Verde.

    Private Charters

    • Cape Verde Express operates chartered flights between the islands for business trips, sightseeing tours and private parties. According to its website, the charter airline also plans to begin operating an executive jet to destinations in the United Kingdom and the rest of Europe. As of September 2010, the website does not specify when this service will begin.

    Boat

    • Two regular ferry lines operate between the islands. One route travels from Sao Vicente to Santo Antao, and another ferry runs from Santiago to Fogo to Brava.
