Both boats travel down the Sacramento River through downtown, pass Capitol Mall, L Street, the Fair Oaks Bridge, Discovery Park and the Guy West Bridge. Island Girl is a two-level yacht that seats up to 130 guests. Private charters are available for weddings, birthdays, anniversaries and other corporate and social events. The boat boards 30 minutes prior to departure. One-, two- and three-hour cruises with a DJ can be reserved. Children age 3 and younger ride free. The Spirit of Sacramento is a paddle wheel boat that can hold up to 350 people. Both boats are equipped with a dining room and dance floor. Island Girl is also equipped with a bar.

    • Bay View Charter’s boats cruise pass attractions and historic sites such as Mount Diablo, Suisun Bay and Angel Island. Private social and corporate charters are available. Largest of the company’s boats, the 90-foot yacht Empress, seats up to 149 people. The boat includes a dining room and a lounge. Quixote, the charter’s smallest yacht, is 35-feet long and seats up to six people. Reservations can include hot meals and live music.

    River Romance Cruise

    • The River Romance Cruise offers two-hour dinner cruises every day of the week. As of 2010, brunch cruises are conducted on Saturdays and Sundays during spring and autumn. Children must be at least 5 years old to take the cruise. Hot meals are prepared aboard the boat, which can seat up to seven people. Sample menu items include rib eye steak, salmon, chicken, baked potatoes and green salad. Guests are permitted to bring a favorite beverage, including beer and wine, aboard the boat. The boat cruises past historic landmarks and sites like the Sundial Bridge and Turtle Bay Exploration Park. Reservations are required for this charter cruise.
