How to Buy Group Travel Packages

Group vacations can be fun if you're going with family, friends or any group that shares similar interests. A group travel package may be money and time-saving if you're attending a cruise, a family reunion or another destination such as Las Vegas, Europe or the Caribbean.

Instructions

    • 1

Decide where you and your group wants to travel, then log on to FunJet, Southwest Airlines or another comparable website to get group travel information. Learn about the requirements, travel options and other deals. Generally, a group of 10 people or more would qualify to buy a group package. You may have to set up an account if you're browsing online, then sign in to review the vacation options. Some sites, such as Southwest, may also offer a group or a rewards membership option if you plan to go on multiple trips.

    • 2

Review the latest rates by using the trip finder or fare calculator on the website, if available. This will give a price estimate of the flight and hotel package, along with an itinerary of activities. Fill in the form with the destination, desired travel dates and times, number of passengers, and nearest airport.

    • 3

Contact the customer service number for information on reservations, or fill out an online inquiry form that details your destination, number of people and other contact information, such as a phone number or email. FunJet also offers a list of recommended travel agents from your nearest location if you prefer to make travel arrangements in-person.

    • 4

Customize your trip based on your group's interests and the agent's recommendations. Book your vacation package online, by phone or in-person. Pay by check or credit card for your tickets and pay a deposit to reserve your hotel rooms. Some companies, such as Southwest, require travelers to fill out and fax a letter of authorization form to confirm booking and payment by credit card.

    • 5

Follow any due dates for paying final deposits and other expenses so that you and your group can travel to your desired destination as scheduled. Payment is usually due 60 days before the departure date depending on the travel agency. Receive individual tickets and itineraries either by mail or online.
