The Fremont Street Experience: Las Vegas's Original Glitter Gulch Reimagined

The Fremont Street Experience (FSE) is a five-block pedestrian mall in downtown Las Vegas (Las Vegas Blvd to Main St, between Ogden and Stewart Aves), capped by the world's largest video screen.

Centerpiece: Viva Vision

Canopy: 1,500 ft long × 90 ft wide, 90 ft high.
Screen: 16.4 million LED pixels (12.5M added 2019 upgrade), 550,000 watts.
Shows: Hourly (dusk–midnight), 6–8 min each. Themed: rock, pop, holidays, Vegas history, 3D. Free.
Sound: 220-speaker, 550,000-watt surround system.

Vibe: Grittier, louder, more "old Vegas" than Strip. Crowds peak 8 PM–midnight.

History

Fremont St was Vegas's first paved road (1925), first traffic light, first casino (Northern Club, 1931). Canopy built 1994–95 ($70M) to compete with Strip megaresorts. Revitalized downtown.

FSE is Vegas unfiltered: neon, noise, history, and a giant LED sky.
