Has it ever snowed in Puerto Rico?

Snow has only been reported three times in the history of Puerto Rico, and only on the island's highest peak:

- January 19, 1966: A dusting of snow was reported on Cerro de Punta, where the temperature dropped to 18°F (-8°C).

- March 8, 1980: A heavier snowfall occurred on Cerro de Punta, accumulating up to 1 inch (2.5 cm) and lasting for several days.

- January 12, 1992: Another light dusting of snow was reported on Cerro de Punta, coating the ground in frost.

These occurrences were all brief, isolated events on high elevations, and snow does not typically fall in the lower-elevation areas of the island.
