Rumored to have the best snow in Southern New York, Mt. Peter is the oldest operating ski area in New York State and one of the few remaining family-operated ski areas in the country. Mt. Peter is known for free beginner ski and snowboard lessons, great snowmaking, expert grooming and family atmosphere. The resort is located in the heart of the Hudson Valley and offers 11 trails, 3 lifts and a 450-foot vertical drop all spread over 60 skiable acres. The trails are about evenly divided between beginner, intermediate and expert terrains.

      Research accommodations by clicking on 'Mountain Services' and selecting 'Where to Stay and Links' from the drop-down menu on the Mt. Peter website.       Rent a car in New York City and enjoy the beautiful Hudson Valley on your one-hour roundtrip to Mount Peter. From New York City, take the New York State Thruway North to Exit 15A left to Route 17 North and travel to Route 17A West. Follow the signs to Mount Peter.
