Where does most of the earths rain and snow come from?

Most of the Earth's rain and snow comes from the evaporation of water from the oceans. This process is driven by the sun's heat, which causes water molecules to move faster and break free from the liquid water. The water vapor then rises into the atmosphere, where it cools and condenses into clouds. When the clouds become saturated with water vapor, the water droplets or ice crystals become too heavy to stay suspended in the air and fall as precipitation.
