What are three things that affect climate?

Three things that affect climate are:

1. Latitude: The amount of solar radiation that reaches a particular location on Earth varies with latitude, simply because locations near the equator receive more intense and direct sunlight than those farther away. This difference gives rise to latitudinal variations in climate.

2. Altitude: With increasing altitude, temperatures tend to decrease. As air rises, it expands, and in the process cools. This process, called adiabatic cooling, causes higher-altitude regions to be cooler. This is why high mountain tops even near the equator are cold and may even be ice-capped.

3. Distance from the sea: Areas close to the sea experience a different climate compared to inland areas. Large water bodies heat and cool slowly compared to land, and this influences the temperature of adjacent land areas. Coastal areas tend to experience a narrower range of temperatures between day and night and also between summer and winter, making the climate more equable.
