Forests
Forests cover about 30% of Romania's land area. The most common trees are beech, oak, spruce, fir, and pine. The forests are home to a variety of animals, including bears, wolves, deer, and wild boar.
Grasslands
Grasslands cover about 25% of Romania's land area. They are found mainly in the central and eastern parts of the country. The grasslands are used for grazing livestock and for growing crops.
Wetlands
Wetlands cover about 10% of Romania's land area. They are found mainly in the Danube Delta and the Carpathian Mountains. The wetlands are home to a variety of birds, fish, and amphibians.
Other types of vegetation
In addition to forests, grasslands, and wetlands, Romania also has some areas of desert, tundra, and alpine vegetation. The deserts are found in the southern part of the country, while the tundra is found in the northern part. The alpine vegetation is found in the Carpathian Mountains.
