Why do the people of Africa live in huts?

The assumption that all people in Africa live in huts is a gross oversimplification and incorrect. Africa is a diverse continent with over 54 countries and a wide range of cultures, climates, and architectural styles. While some people do live in huts, many others live in modern houses, apartments, or other types of dwellings.
