What were the reasons lost boys could not stay in Ethiopia?
Lost Boys of Sudan could not remain in Ethiopia because they were not Ethiopian citizens. Some had been born in Uganda to South Sudanese refugees who were fleeing their war-torn country. Others were born in South Sudan but were displaced to Ethiopia or Kenya as children during the Second Sudanese Civil War. Because they were not citizens of Ethiopia, they did not have the same rights and privileges as Ethiopian citizens, and they were not able to stay in the country.
