- Birth rate starts to decline
- Death rate continues to fall (slower pace)
- Population growth starts to slow down
- Nigeria is currently experiencing this stage
Stage 4: Low Stationary stage
- Birth rate and death rate are low
- Population growth is slow and stable
- Nigeria is yet to reach this stage
