Ghana International Airline employs less than two hundred people and is seventy percent government owned. Ralph Akin, founder of United States SkyWest, was involved in its creation, as well other notables like Kenya Airways past CEO, Brian Presbury, Sean Mendis and Albert Vitale.       Ghana International Airlines (GIA) originated as a joint venture between confidential international investors and the Ghana government in 2004. It took over the out of commission Ghana Airways. GIA became the national flag carrier in 2005 and flies out of the Accra Kotoka International Airport. It is located in Accra, Ghana. Ghana is a country situated in West Africa near Nigeria.
