Is lake Victoria in Africa on a volcanoe?

Lake Victoria is the largest lake in Africa and is located in East Africa, between Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania. It is not situated on a volcano. Lake Victoria is part of the Great Rift Valley, a series of tectonic rifts that run through eastern Africa. The lake was formed by the movement of the African and Arabian tectonic plates, which caused a depression to form and eventually fill with water.
