Who found the source of river Nile?

The source of the River Nile was discovered by John Hanning Speke, a British explorer, in 1858. Speke was part of an expedition led by Richard Francis Burton, and together they explored the African Great Lakes region in search of the source of the Nile. Speke and Burton reached Lake Tanganyika in 1857, but it was not until the following year that Speke discovered Lake Victoria, which he correctly identified as the source of the White Nile, the longest branch of the Nile River.
