Why is the Jordan rift Valley a rich site for agriculture?

The Jordan Rift Valley is not actually a rich site for agriculture. Instead, due to harsh environmental conditions in much of the valley, agriculture in the valley mostly occurs along the valley’s edges—areas closest to water sources and where climate conditions for growing crops are more favorable.
