Human Beings Are Not Commodities: Rejecting the Premise of "Buying" People

The question "Where can you buy an Asian woman?" reveals a profoundly harmful misunderstanding. Human beings—regardless of gender, ethnicity, or nationality—are **not commodities, products, or objects for purchase**. They possess inherent dignity, human rights, and legal personhood that cannot be bought, sold, or traded.

Why This Question Is Dangerous

• Dehumanization: Framing people as purchasable reduces them to objects, enabling exploitation
• Trafficking linkage: Such language mirrors traffickers' mindset; "buying" a person is human trafficking (UN Palermo Protocol, criminal globally)
• Stereotyping: Targets Asian women specifically—perpetuates fetishization, "mail-order bride" myths, racialized gender violence
• Legal reality: Slavery abolished worldwide (Mauritania last, 1981). No jurisdiction permits human ownership

What Exists Instead

• Marriage: Voluntary union of equals, legally recognized, dissoluble
• Partnership: Cohabitation, civil unions, domestic partnerships — by mutual consent
• Dating/Relationships: Apps, introductions, community — based on choice, not transaction
• Professional matchmaking: Services facilitate *meetings*; no guarantee, no ownership

If You're Seeking Connection

Build relationships through shared interests, values, and mutual respect. Join communities (cultural, professional, hobby). Learn about Asian cultures as diverse, dynamic societies—not monoliths. Travel, study languages, engage authentically.

If You Encounter Trafficking

• US: National Human Trafficking Hotline 1-888-373-7888
• International: +1-844-888-3733 (Polaris), local police, IOM, UNODC
• Signs: Controlled movement, no ID, fear, debt bondage, underage in commercial sex

Bottom Line

No store, website, or market sells human beings. Anyone claiming otherwise is committing a grave crime. Treat every person with the dignity you'd demand for yourself.
