Turkey: The Transcontinental Nation in Europe and Asia

Turkey spans both continents. Mostly in Western Asia (Anatolia), with a smaller portion (East Thrace) in Southeastern Europe. The Bosphorus and Dardanelles Straits separate the two sides and connect the Black Sea to the Mediterranean. Turkey borders eight countries: Bulgaria, Greece, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Iran, Iraq, Syria.
