Eurasia: The Combined Landmass of Europe and Asia Explained

Geographers use the term Eurasia to refer to the continuous landmass comprising Europe and Asia. It is the largest continent on Earth, spanning over 54 million square kilometres (21 million square miles). The Ural Mountains form the traditional boundary between the European and Asian portions.

Eurasia is bounded by the Pacific Ocean to the east, the Atlantic Ocean to the west, the Arctic Ocean to the north, and the Indian Ocean to the south. It is home to more than 5 billion people, making it the most populous continent on the planet.
