Created in 1775 by Daniel Boone, it was the second settlement in Kentucky. Fort Boonesborough is a popular state park, offering a museum, reconstructed fort, swimming pool, gift shop and hiking trails. The camping accommodations offer 167 sites, and four pull-through sites open year-round.
