Campgrounds Near Kelleys Island, Ohio

Escape to the beauty of Kelleys Island, Ohio, the largest American island in Lake Erie, and become one with nature.     • For campers wishing to stay on the island, Kelleys State Park features 45 nonelectric sites and 82 electric sites. Showers, flush toilets, a dump station, picnic shelters, playground and volleyball court are located on-site. For those wishing to stay indoors, the campground offers Rent-A-Camp units from May to September. Units sleep four people and include cots, sleeping pads, camp stove, cooler and lanterns. Roast marshmallows over the fire pit and enjoy lunch at your covered picnic table. If you’re looking for all the comforts of home, rent a premium yurt, which includes an efficiency kitchen, bath and shower. Watch TV or DVDs in the living room and grill on the sundeck. Yurts are available from May to September.

    Lakeside Camping

    • East Harbor State Park in Lakeside-Marblehead, about 7 miles away, features electric and nonelectric sites in the woods or along the waterfront, as well as 23 full hookup sites. Two deluxe camper cabins and two Rent-an-RV units are also available. Rent a bike or borrow games and sporting equipment from the camp office, or fish the lake and take advantage of the fish-cleaning building on-site. Additional campground amenities include free Wi-Fi access, flush toilets, showers, dump station and a boat ramp.

    • Bring your RV, pop-up camper or tent to Cedarlane RV Park in Port Clinton, roughly 15 miles away, and set up camp at one of 300 sites. Kids can splash around in the kiddie pool or interactive sprayground, and adults can relax in the heated pool. Modern restrooms, hot showers, laundry facilities and a dump station are located on the property. Enjoy a friendly game of basketball, volleyball or shuffleboard, or take part in scheduled activities and meet your neighbors. Stock up on supplies at the on-site store, and stay connected with free Wi-Fi.

    Camp on the Bay

    • About 20 miles away in Put-In-Bay, the 33-acre South Bass Island State Park offers a variety of campsites throughout the wooded grounds. Eleven sites offer electric, water and sewer hookups, while 120 sites are nonelectric. Flush toilets, showers and a dump station are located on the property. You can also book a week in a rustic cabin, which sleeps up to eight people and includes a bedroom, dining room, bathroom and fully equipped kitchen. Take in the views of the lake from your screened porch or sundeck, or head inside to watch TV and movies in the living room. Combine the pleasures of tent camping with the comforts of a cabin by booking a cabent, which includes two bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom and common area.
