Why did hoei shin leave such a great Chinese civilization to cross ocean come savage place?
Hoei-Shin was a Japanese monk and scholar who traveled from Japan to China in the 7th century in order to study and teach Buddhism and other aspects of Chinese culture. Although China was indeed a great civilization at the time, it is highly unlikely that he left Japan out of disdain for its savage nature or to seek out a more civilized place. His motivations were primarily due to his scholarly pursuits and the importance placed on learning and cultural exchange between Japan and China during that period.
