What Is Provincial Rock? Ontario's Building Stone

Provincial rock is a fine-grained dolostone (dolomite-rich sedimentary rock) quarried in south-central Ontario, Canada. It's light brown to cream, smooth-textured, Mohs hardness 3–4. Used for building stone, cement, lime, and aggregate.
