The oldest bridge in Canada that still retains its original design and construction materials is the Abenakis Springs Truss Bridge, located over Salmon River in New Brunswick. It was built in 1886 by the Dominion Bridge Company and is a wrought iron truss bridge with a total length of 114 feet (34.7 m). It is the last surviving iron bridge from the 19th century in Canada and is designated as a National Historic Site of Canada.
