Drive over to Club Regent Casino and have the valet park your car from the front entrance to the casino, or park your own car in one of the back areas. Either have easy and quick access to the Casino’s entry doors. Nothing is far away.
Take a walk around the casino to see what is there. Make sure you wander through the tropical-fish-filled salt water aquarium, using its pedestrian tunnel. The fish swim freely from side to side over your head. If you want to know what kind they are, there is a visual guide to tell you about each fish. Look up at the blue sky on the other side of the aquarium, always there even in a Winterpeg winter. See what jungle creatures are around the casino as you walk. Find the talking pirate skeleton and see if he has anything to say while you are there. His name is El Capitan Gregorio Domingo de Avalaza. He sits on a trunk near a barrel still dressed in his 15th century Spanish attire. He is near the Mayan village area of the casino.
There are hundreds of slot machines including two and one cent machines for those on a gambling budget who still want to experience the fun of a casino. They also have poker games, blackjack, the recently added, very popular Texas hold’em, baccarat, keno and the inevitable Winnipeg favorite, bingo.
Try the food at the Royal Palms Restaurant if you get hungry. It is open daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Stop and quench your thirst. Get a drink at the bar surrounded by jungle tropical décor. It is near the gaming tables in the Mayan area.
Check to see who might be performing live at Club Regent. It host live concerts. Check their website to see who is coming and see who has been there to perform in the past. The two casinos have hosted a wide variety of performers.
Visit the casino from 10 a.m. to 3 a.m. Monday through Saturday, Sundays noon to 3 a.m. This is not a 24-hour casino like at some of the big gambling cities in other parts of the world. It is a much slower paced casino but a lot of fun and a fun way to get away for a few hours. This is the more fancy sister of the two casinos of Winnipeg.
