How to Find Calgary's Best Tourist Spots

Calgary is the largest city in the Canadian province of Alberta. Well known for having hosted the 1988 Winter Olympic games, the city is an ideal spot for eco-tourism and enjoying nature. Those are not the only reasons to visit and enjoy Calgary, however. The ethnically diverse city is full of culture, live music, natural scenery and important landmarks.       Visit Prince's Island Park. Located in downtown Calgary in the Bow River, this island is the perfect place to relax, hike, go biking, walking and just enjoy and reveal in the beauty of the city. There are picnic areas as well. Oftentimes there are live music performances here, as well as plays.

      Check out the Calgary Tower. This tower is a symbol of Calgary as a city. Its 9th Avenue location is the center of downtown Calgary. With a revolving deck and restaurant at the top of the building, visitors can get spectacular panoramic views of Calgary's skyline as well as mountains and surrounding areas.

      Spend the afternoon at the Canada Olympic Park. This park is a great place to go snowboarding, skiing, tobogganing and bobsledding. There are various hills and slopes that are ideal for this. The park has guided tours and some of the best skyline views of the city.

      Go to the Firefighters Museum. This unique museum has a vast collection of antique firefighting equipment and memorabilia. One of the most notable items on display here is the 1948 Seagrave aerial ladder truck. Some of the equipment here includes vintage helmets, logbooks, hose nozzles and jackets.

      Relax at Calgary Devonian Gardens. Located, somewhat surprisingly, on the 4th floor of Toronto Dominion Square, these gardens are a beautiful paradise of many exquisite and often rare types of flowers.
