Spend some time at the Royal Ontario Museum. This is one of Canada's most popular museums and it has a strong focus on both the arts and sciences. One of the most exciting parts of the museum is its vast collection of gems. There is also an impressive display of Ontario's history, including rock drawings from the natives of the area. Stop by the Armen Art Gallery located downtown. This gallery specializes in North American native artworks. Visitors will able to study Haida and Woodland works, including sculptures, paintings, drawings, jewelry and handicrafts. There are also guided tours of the museum Located in the heart of the city, this is a worthwhile place to spend a few hours.
Go to Harbourfront Centre. There are always lots of activities and events going on here, from live music performances to festivals and art exhibits. With its lovely harbor view, this center makes for an appealing gathering area. Every year, around 3 million visitors pass by the Centre to participate in various events.
Have fun at Ontario Place. This is a pleasant and relaxing recreational park that is located on various artificial islands. This is especially a fun site for children, with its marina, open air theater, gardens, games and entertainment. Children will love the aptly named "Children's Village." Adults will enjoy the many restaurants and souvenir shops.
Shop at the St. Lawrence Market. This lively market has an array of vendors and stalls that all sell different but unique food items (cheeses, meats and prepared meals). There is also a Market Gallery on the premises and Sunday tends to be the busiest day of the week there. This is a colorful and vibrant place to shop for food.
