Relax at Tortugas Beach. This is one of the most popular beaches in Cancun, along with Caracol and Chac-Mool. Located along the Boulevard Cancun, this is the ideal place to hit some rays and go for a swim. The beach is very clean, serene and is ideal for relaxation. There is also a large golf course called Paseo Kukulkan located right by the beach.
Spend the afternoon at CEDAM. CEDAM is Mexico's underground exploration organization. The museum for the club is located in Cancun and visitors to the center can look at various underwater exhibitions here, both temporary and permanent. There are also many sea life relics and artifacts on display. If you like, after a few hours of touring the museum, you can even follow it up by going snorkeling or scuba diving there.
Visit the El Rey Maya Ruins. What's a visit to Mexico with a peak into some Aztec history, right? There is more to Cancun than fun in the sun. Visitors can walk through various Mayan ruins, mostly of the Puuc style. Many of the ruins are stumps or pyramids with temples on top of them. More than 50 tombs have been uncovered here.
Check out the Museo Arqueológico de Cancún (Archaeological Museum of Cancun). This is another fascinating place to learn about and see relics and artifacts of Mayan culture. There are various exhibitions (both permanent and temporary) detailing the history of the Mayans. Some of the more interesting artifacts include Mayan attire, jewelry and more.
Relax at Cancun Resort. This is the premier resort of the town. Located on a strip of elegant luxury hotels, restaurants, tourist shops, nightclubs, and bars, this street is the essence of Cancun and its fun-loving spirit. When you combine beaches, recreational centers, diversity of restaurants, and lively clubs, you cannot go wrong.
