Visit the Greenwood Great House in Falmouth. This house has been in existence since 1870, when it was built by Richard Barrett, who was related to the famous poet Elizabeth Barrett Browning. Now, the house is the site of a delightful antique museum which is full of decorations and furnishings. There is also a rare collection of instruments and Wedgwood china.
Relax at the Half Moon Beach in Falmouth. Most people come to Jamaica to relax, bask in the sunshine, go swimming and get a great suntan. Half Moon Beach is the quintessential place to do all of that. With perfect blue skies, white sand and fascinating coral reefs, what more could a tourist ask for?
Go to Bamboo Avenue in Black River. Bamboo Avenue is truly an exquisite sight. It is a well-protected grove made entirely of giant bamboo that forms an arch over the road, thus creating a tropical canopy of sorts. This makes for a very scenic road to take a drive.
Go too Alligator Pond on the Jamaican South Coast. This is an interesting site to view Jamaican culture. Every morning, local Jamaican women haggle and bargain over the fishermens' catches here. This is also a wonderful place to go swimming, sunbathing, scuba diving and snorkeling.
Take at look at the Luminous Lagoon in Falmouth. This lagoon truly lives up to its name. The name was derived from the marine phosphorescence here. When there is action in the lagoon waters, that triggers a reaction that results in the emission of mesmerizing light.
