Visit Granville Island. Recently transformed from an industrial center to an area of relaxation, this is one of the most charming areas of Vancouver. Brimming with artistic types, Granville Island has many art galleries, theaters, cafes, restaurants and pubs. The marina is a particularly beautiful sight of interest. Also, be sure to visit the Island Public Market for an excellent selection of fresh seafood, vegetables, and fruit.
Shop on Robson Street. This bustling street is the place to go if you are looking for elegant boutiques and galleries. Indian arts and crafts are especially common at the galleries of Robson Street. There are also many restaurants and international shops located here, especially German stores.
Go to Canada Place, one of Vancouver's most symbolic landmarks. This architecturally impressive and unique structure somewhat resembles a massive vessel. Inside the building, visitors will find a convention center, hotel, numerous restaurants, shops and a large IMAX theater. The pier located by the center also has wonderful vantage points to get excellent views of the harbor.
Stop by English Bay. The fun never stops at English Bay, located in downtown Vancouver's western side. The ocean here is gorgeous, and at any time of day you will see rollerbladers, swimmers, cyclists, walkers and locals just having a great time in general. This is the perfect place to relax and spend a laid-back day in the city.
Visit Old Hastings Mill Store Museum. This is a historical landmark for Vancouver because after a fire occurred at this former sawmill in 1886, only the store and post office remained intact. The store has been converted into a museum and nowadays displays artifacts from the pioneer days as well as from the Native settlements. Many believe that this building is the oldest in the entire city.
