How to Find Malmo's Best Tourist Spots

Malmo, located on the southern tip of Sweden, is the third most populous city in the Scandinavian nation. When most foreign visitors think of going to Sweden, the first city to come to mind is the capital Stockholm; however, Malmo is a beautiful and friendly city, and many Swedes opt for Malmo as a getaway destination. The city has various cultural hubs, artistic events, museums and serene parks. If you are planning on visiting Malmo in the future, here are some of the best tourist spots.

      Spend the afternoon at the Carriage Museum. Located slightly east of Malmo's town center in Drottningtorget, this museum located in the Town Hall has various old carriages and a history of the automobile exhibit. There are also old motorcycles, from their origins up to the modern day, on display as well.

      Relax at Pildammspark. This relaxing part has a comfortable and lively atmosphere. With an open air theater, the Margareta Pavilion, a stadium and exhibition centers, it is also the site for many entertainment events including live music. Be sure to check out the Hyllie Water Tower (253 feet high). The observation deck offers amazing views of the city.

      Check out Torup Castle. Located slightly outside of Malmo, this beautifully preserved castle sits in an equally lovely park. Built in the sixteenth century, this castle is owned by the city of Malmo and is a wonderfully idyllic place to both relax, explore and view history up close.

      Go to Gustav Adolfs Torg. This area is a wonderful and bustling shopping area of Malmo. Along the street of Sodergatan here, visitors will find everything from small fashionable boutiques to large chain department stores. Be sure to check out the sophisticated Triangeln shopping center located here. There is also a picturesque canal along the shopping street.

      Visit Skanor-Falsterbo. Just slightly outside of Malmo city, this is a tranquil and lovely seaside resort area. The beach is not only the perfect place to bask in the sunshine of Swedish summertime, it's a great place to look at the diverse amount of flowers and birds that the beach is famous for.
