Pack a blanket or camp chairs to sit on the lawn for the concert. Bring something to drink and a snack. There are some picnic tables available also. They do a have food wagon stand that offers simple fare for purchase if you don’t feel like hauling the food along.
Put everything and everybody in your car and head to the west part of Winnipeg. Assiniboine Park is easily accessible by city bus and taxi service too. There are entrances to the park from a number of directions.
Park right off the road next to the field or in one of the numerous free parking areas located around Assiniboine Park. Head over to the Lyric Theatre right behind the architecturally interesting Pavilion Gallery Museum building flying the Canadian flag on the top. It is easy to spot.
Sit down or get up and dance an while you listen to the free concert. They have a series of them throughout the summer overseen by Partners in the Park, a non-profit organization in Winnipeg that encourages free exposure to the arts by the general public. Enjoy yourself. These concerts are the perfect way to unwind and getaway while the weather is nice in the city of Winnipeg and all for free.
