The town of Grand Ledge, Michigan has a close relationship with the river in its town; in fact, it got its name for its position along the high ledges of the Grand River. Since Grand Ledge is just west of Lansing, many of the businesses and attractions that service Grand Ledge are found in the surrounding area.     • Lansing Metro Marinas offers one-hour and chartered riverboat tours leaving from downtown Lansing that showcase the downtown historical district, as well as some of the natural areas along the riverbank. Typical scheduled tours included a city sights tour and an autumn "fall colors" tour. Regular city tours run from spring to the end of September, with the addition of the fall colors tour for limited days in October. Tours are held every hour on the hour during weekday business hours; hours are limited on the weekends. It is also possible to charter a boat for a half-day or full day to include cruising in Grand Ledge. You can also charter a boat to take you to local baseball games on the "Lugnuts" cruise, or rent a party boat for one of Lansing's outdoor events during the spring and summer months.

    • The Michigan Princess company operates what it calls the only three-deck riverboat in the state. The company offers its "Color Cruises" several times a week, giving people the chance to enjoy the colors of the trees along the riverbank, which are especially colorful during autumn. The company also runs private tours and events. Some public events are held on the weekends, such as Halloween and holiday-themed parties. You can also choose a "Mystery Theater" night as an added option, which allows you and your guests to take part in a murder mystery game during dinner. Located in downtown Lansing, the Princess is also available for chartered cruises near Grand Ledge.

    Color Cruise & Island Festival

    • Grand Ledge hosts a three-day festival each October as a way to celebrate the harvest and enjoy the fall foliage. The Annual Color Cruise and Island Festival includes a cruise up and down the Grand River aboard a chartered river boat. The public is allowed to ride for a small fee. This specially chartered event is the only one leaving from Grand Ledge. The festival includes food booths, cooking, spinning, and weaving demonstrations, live music, and pumpkin painting.
