Who Owns Jamaica? A Sovereign Nation

Jamaica is a sovereign independent nation. It is not owned by any other country, entity, or individual.

Formerly a British colony, Jamaica gained full independence on August 6, 1962, becoming a constitutional monarchy within the Commonwealth of Nations. The British monarch (currently King Charles III) is the ceremonial head of state, represented by a Governor-General appointed on the advice of the Jamaican Prime Minister.

Jamaica governs itself through its own Parliament, Prime Minister, and legal system. It is a member of the UN, CARICOM, OAS, and other international bodies.

In short: Jamaica owns itself.
