How was Five Islands formed?

Five Islands in Port Stephens, Australia, is named after the five rocky outcrops near the mouth of the bay. The islands are made of Devonian granite, which was formed when magma from the Earth's mantle cooled and solidified beneath the surface around 360 million years ago. Over millions of years, erosion and sea level changes exposed the granite and formed the five distinct islands.
