One of the things most Grand Turk visitors want to see is the lighthouse. The lighthouse is on the northern tip of the island and looks almost like it did when it was built. You can see the storage building and the home of the lighthouse keeper, all made of local limestone. You can sit along the beach beside the lighthouse and watch as the sun sets over the island. Another option is to rent a Jeep from one of the local agencies and take a tour of the island, or take a guided tour as a passenger in one of the Jeeps.
Scuba diving is one of the most popular outdoor attractions on Grand Turk, particularly in an area known as the Wall. You can rent equipment from one of the local dive shops and drive to the Wall. Dive shops also offer lessons and guided tours. The same shops offer snorkeling tours and lessons. If you prefer the land to the sea, try horseback riding on the beach with a guide or on your own. Dune buggy tours also are available.
When on Grand Turk, make time to visit the Carnival Cruise Terminal, even if you don't sail on one of the company's ships. The little village has a number of restaurants including Margaritaville of Jimmy Buffett fame, and lots of shops. The terminal also has a large swimming pool and an 800-foot-long beach. Another must is a visit to the Osprey Beach Hotel to hear the High Tide Band, which performs every Wednesday and Saturday night. The local band is a favorite among visitors and locals. There's also Spa Anani with facials, skin treatments, massages and other spa treatments.
