Indian Reservations in Ohio: Two Federally Recognized

Ohio has two federally recognized reservations:

  1. Ottawa Reservation (Ottawa County, NW Ohio)
    • Tribe: Ottawa Tribe of Oklahoma
    • ~1,450 acres; ~1,000 residents
  2. Wyandot Reservation (Wyandot County, N-central Ohio)
    • Tribe: Wyandot Nation of Oklahoma
    • ~1,750 acres; ~500 residents

Both have tribal governments, police, courts, social services, and economic enterprises (casinos, hotels, retail). They are remnants of 19th-century removals; most tribal members live in Oklahoma.
