Where do most of the people in Iran live?

The majority of the population in Iran lives in urban areas. As of 2018, the urban population in Iran was estimated to be around 74% of the total population, while the rural population made up the remaining 26%. The urban population is concentrated in large cities such as Tehran, Mashhad, Isfahan, Karaj, and Shiraz, which are home to several million people each. These cities are centers of industry, commerce, and education, and offer a higher quality of life compared to rural areas. However, there are still significant rural communities in Iran, particularly in the central and eastern provinces, where agriculture, animal husbandry, and traditional crafts are important economic activities. The Iranian government has implemented various policies to encourage rural development and improve living conditions in these areas, such as providing subsidies, improving access to infrastructure and education, and promoting agricultural development.
