The Tara River Canyon, located in Montenegro, is also often referred to as 'The Grand Canyon of Europe'. It plunges 1,300 metres at its deepest point, making it the deepest river canyon in Europe and one of the deepest canyons in the world. The canyon was carved by the Tara River over millions of years and stretches for approximately 82 kilometres. It boasts breathtaking views of rugged limestone cliffs, crystal clear waters, lush vegetation, and an abundance of wildlife, including various bird species, bears, and wolves.
