Does Switzerland Have a Sea Coast?

No. Switzerland is a landlocked country in the heart of Europe. It has no coastline or direct access to the sea.

It is bordered by five countries:

  • France (west)
  • Germany (north)
  • Italy (south)
  • Austria (east)
  • Liechtenstein (northeast)

Maritime access is via Rhine River ports (Basel) connecting to North Sea through Germany/Netherlands, or via Mediterranean ports in Italy/France (Genoa, Marseille).
