Dial your international access code. An international access code is a numeric code that tells your telecommunication company that you want to call a contact located in a different country. In North American countries, the international access code is 011. If you make your call from a country located on another continent, please refer to the List of International Access Codes in the Resources section of this article.
Dial the appropriate country code. European country codes are two- or three-digit numbers that usually start with either "3" or "4." For example, the country codes for the United Kingdom, Germany and France are respectively "44," "49" and "33." For a list of other European country codes, please refer to the International Country Calling Codes page in the Resources section of this article.
Dial the area code, but drop the initial "0" if there is one. For example, the area code of London, United Kingdom, is "020." When calling someone in London from abroad, simply dial "20."
Dial the local number. The local number is the actual number of your contact.
