Does the Alps form a natural boundary between Italy and Germany?

The Alps do not form a natural boundary between Italy and Germany. While the Alps do run along the northern border of Italy, they also extend into parts of France, Switzerland, Austria, and Slovenia. Italy and Germany share a border to the north of the Alps, but it does not follow the mountain range.
