Were people on the West side of Berlin Wall starved?

People on the West side of the Berlin Wall were not starved. The West side of the city was supplied by the Allies through the Berlin Airlift, which brought in food and other necessities. The East side of the city, which was controlled by the Soviet Union, was not as fortunate and experienced food shortages and other deprivations.
