Wine Country Tours in Burgundy, France

Burgundy, which is about three hours from Paris by car, is known for its castles, medieval churches, vineyards and wineries. The area features more than 4,000 domaines, or wine estates, that produce a wide variety of both red and white wines. These domaines are spread across several regions, including Chablis, Maconnais, Cote de Nuits, Cote de Beaune and Cote de Chalon.

    • Burgundy Discovery is owned and operated by an English couple, David and Lynne Hammond. They offer one- to three-day tours of Burgundy and longer tours that include overnight stays in Burgundy and neighboring wine regions, including the Rhone Valley and Tuscany. The Hammonds limit the size of the tour groups to no more than eight people although they will arrange special tours for groups of up to 50. In addition to their wine country tours, the Hammonds also offer cooking classes and private gourmet suppers at the Chateau de Chassagne Montrachet.

    Max's 5 Star Private Burgundy Wine Tours

    • Max has lived and worked in Burgundy for more than 25 years. He owns a number of rental apartments and a rental barge in Dijon and leads "Wine, Historical and Discovery" tours for groups of two to eight people. Both full- and half-day tours are available. The full-day tour includes visits to a 12th-century winemaking barn, a vineyard in the Cote de Nuits, a small family chateau in the Côte de Beaune, the city of Beaune and, if time permits, the fairytale chateau of La Rochepot or a medieval village above the Burgundy Canal.     Burgundy Hiking/Walking
