• Vacations By Rail offers a nine-day holiday with train travel between the capital cities. Depart from a U.S. location to arrive in Paris the following morning. The day of arrival, after meeting the tour director and arriving to the Mercure Tour Eiffel hotel, travelers are free to explore or adjust to jet lag. Over the next two days, organized trips include a visit to the Eiffel Tower, the Champs-Elysees, the Arc de Triomphe and Notre Dame and the Place de la Concorde. After three nights in Paris, travel via overnight train to Rome, where the vacation continues for three more nights at the Cardinal St. Peter Hotel. Organized trips include visits to the Forum, Colosseum and Circus Maximus, as well as St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican. Check out the Sistine Chapel or indulge in the local cuisine.
