Rote Fabrik is a club and community space that hosts approximately 100 concerts and parties each year. Booking an international roster of hip-hop, rock, indie, jazz and reggae, Rote Fabrik hosts concerts and parties at four venues on its lakeside compound. The Aktionshalle seats 1300 and hosts large acts, Clubraum seats 600 and hosts smaller events and the intimate restaurant Ziegel oh Lac seats 200. In the warmer months, Rote Fabrik hosts outdoor festivals at its lakeside summer stage. Rote Fabrik's website features an extensive calendar that is updated regularly. Hive is a venue that aims to innovate club culture. Offering cutting-edge electronic music, a modern interior and a socially liberal atmosphere, Hive has become a favorite in Zurich for those who want to go to parties that are laid-back, hip and cultured. It has two floors and often plays electronic music on one and indie rock on the other. Hive offers an extensive selection of local Swiss beer. On Thursdays it hosts an underage night (19 and up) and on weekends it is open to females 21 and up and males 23 and up (as of January 2010).

One of the most popular and renowned European jazz venues, Moods is housed in a former industrial building that has been converted into a stylish jazz club. Featuring an international mix of famed jazz musicians and up-and-coming acts, Moods has been drawing crowds since it opened in 1991. Located in the center of trendy Zurich-West, Moods is close to other bars, clubs and restaurants. Moods hosts concerts and events seven nights a week and late-night sets Fridays and Saturdays (as of January 2010).
