Night Clubs in Prague

Home to some of Europe's most beautiful architecture and historic neighborhoods, not to mention world-famous beer, Prague is high on the must-see lists for European tourists and backpackers. Prague's nightlife is exploding with the same energy and cosmopolitan flair that you'll find in any big European city. After strolling across the Charles Bridge and watching the sunset over the Old Town's impressive spires, head to any of Prague's famous night clubs for an evening of fine dancing and entertainment. Many clubs are located in converted factories and warehouses, giving them an interesting Eastern European air that simply must be experienced firsthand.
  1. Mecca

    • For an all-out, super-trendy, high-fashion experience, Mecca is second to none. Located in a converted warehouse in an old industrial area just north of downtown Prague, this massive party space attracts some of the city's most glamorous party-goers and foreigners. Things get started very late here, with most guests arriving well past midnight. Many of the world's top DJs have played here, and Mecca's powerful sound system guarantees you'll feel every beat. Add to that dozens of mirrored disco balls, superb lighting, and a sumptuous leather-clad VIP lounge, and you'll see why there's always a long wait to get in. Mecca is open from 11 a.m. to 6 a.m. daily.

    Duplex

    • This multilevel penthouse nightclub is widely regarded as one of the best and most exclusive clubs in the city. Duplex joined the "World's Finest Clubs" group in 2005, and it's no surprise that Mick Jagger hosted his 60th birthday party here during The Rolling Stones' fourth concert in Prague. Guests enjoy awesome views of Wenceslas Square and the city center, innovative lighting, and top-of-the-line sound system. Prague's best local and international DJs play here regularly, and the music tends to vary quite a bit. Because of its centralized location, Duplex attracts waves of tourists. The on-site Italian restaurant Kogo offers fine Italian food and traditional Czech cuisine.

    Radost FX

    • Part vegetarian café, part retro 70s-style dance club, the aptly named Radost (Czech for "Joy") has been enormously popular among Prague clubbers for nearly twenty years. Although the dance floor can get unbearably cramped, Radost FX club offers lots of alternative hangout lounges to catch a break. Radost FX attracts a diverse crowd of straight and gay, men and women, local and international. The single unifying theme is that everyone is fashionably dressed, so much so that bouncers have been known to kick people out for looking like slobs. DJs play mostly to the techno and rave crowd although there are more accessible tunes in the mix from time to time. Radost FX is open daily from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
