Most Irish People Do Not Live in Dublin: Only ~40% in the Greater Dublin Area

The claim that "most people in Ireland live in Dublin" is false.

Actual Distribution (2022 Census)

• Greater Dublin Area (Dublin + Mid-East): ~2.1 million (~40% of 5.1M total).
• Dublin City & Suburbs: ~1.2 million.
• Rest of Ireland: ~3 million across Cork, Galway, Limerick, Waterford, towns, rural areas.

Major Urban Centres Outside Dublin

• Cork: ~220K (city), ~360K (metro)
• Galway: ~85K

Ireland is increasingly urbanized, but Dublin is a primate city, not a majority of the population.
