Adrian, Michigan is a small town in Lenawee County in the southern part of the state. Adrian is home to events that welcome locals as well as visitors. Some are offered nearly year-round and others are annual traditions dating back to the early 19th century that are kept alive by citizens of Adrian. Other events are new developments for the area that invite people to experience cultural events and a growing art scene.
The Lenawee County Fair Grounds are the home of the Lenawee County Fair, which has been entertaining visitors since 1839. The event is kicked off with a parade and provides live music, rides, petting zoos, 4-H competitions, games and vendors. Couples who have been married more than 50 years are honored at the bandshell.
The market, located in the Toledo parking lot in downtown Adrian, is up and running every Wednesday and Saturday from May through October. Fruits, vegetables, flowers and crafts are available for purchase.
The Art-A-Licious Festival, taking place every September, is a place to hear live music, buy artwork and handmade crafts, watch demonstrations, purchase food, participate in a charity auction and visit with members of the community.
This yearly celebration features drumming, dancing, storytelling and Native American art and crafts. The Celebration takes place at the Lenawee County Fair Grounds.
