The yearly Fairgrove Bean Festival, held each Labor Day weekend, requires a whole 12 months of planning. Regular meetings are held once a month at the Fairgrove Village Hall and then transferred to the festival venue, the Michigan Bean Festival Building, in May of each year. This family-orientated celebration of the humble bean offers attractions like a parade, car show, demolition derby, casino tent and "Most Beautiful Baby" show, as well as a contest for the festival queen. During the festival, organizers and volunteers hand out cups of the celebrated Michigan Bean Soup, a fixture of the menu served daily at The White House. The Dow Center, 25 miles from Fairgrove, is home to the Saginaw Spirit OHL junior ice hockey team and Sting UIFL indoor football team. Regular matches are held each week at the Wendler Arena stadium in downtown Saginaw. The area holds up to 7,600 visitors and also plays host to sports events such as WWE Wrestling shows and receives visits from the Harlem Globetrotters.
Due to its size, Fairgrove does not have a large public entertainment facility, but the nearby Dow Center, less than 25 miles away in Saginaw, offers a variety of family entertainment with several events to choose from at its Wendler Arena venue, every week. This multi-purpose facility, which was originally built in 1972, was refurbished and re-opened in 2001. It contains a sport arena, theater, hall, garden room, conference facilities and atrium. Fairgrove residents enjoy Wendler Arena concerts by world-famous artists such as Kid Rock and blues guitarist Joe Bonamassa, Bob Seger and Carrie Underwood. Other recent entertainment events include a Shrine Circus performance and visits from the Dreamworks Madagascar Live touring show and local productions of the "Church Girl" and Michael Flatley's "Lord of the Dance." For truck fans, there are regular monster jam sessions.
